Product care

With proper care, the natural properties of cotton and alpaca wool fibers can be maintained for years, even decades. Natural fibers such as pima cotton or baby alpaca do not absorb odors easily, so it is not necessary to wash the garments every time you use them. Let the garments air out, avoiding direct sunlight.

Here are some tips for your GENES piece to have a long life cycle:

WASHING

Preferably, wash the garments by hand, with cold water and a mild soap. Do not let the fabric soak as this can cause the fibers to shrink. Squeeze out as much water as possible without twisting the garment. Avoid fabric softeners as this can dull the fibers. If you use a washing machine, use it on a delicate wash cycle with mild soap, preferably natural.

DRYING

If you don't want your piece to loose its shape, if possible, put your garment to dry on a flat surface in a well-ventilated place avoiding direct sunlight.

STORAGE

Fold and store the fabrics in a clean and dry place, do not hang them as this can stretch the fiber and change the shape of the garment. Preferably, store the alpaca garments in a cloth bag.
